Rhys’ background in urban planning and environmental studies informs his interests in landscape architecture. Rhys is passionate about sustainable design practices and the opportunities that urban sites present for integrating wildlife habitat into the built environment. His previous work includes a range of projects, from large-scale mixed use, multifamily and campus housing, to small-scale sites and design-build projects. As a graduate student at the University of Washington, Rhys assisted in course instruction in architectural photography and site grading and drainage. His thesis research explored design strategies for supporting wildlife habitat in small-scale urban sites.
