Jesse has a background in Urban Design and Planning, which, combined with his passion for plants, has led him to Landscape Architecture. Jesse is interested in Landscape Architecture applications in the urban environment with a focus on promoting walkability; he is especially enthusiastic about creating pedestrian spaces in the public realm that will enhance more people’s living experiences. Jesse’s previous work in Chongqing, China, included researching and exploring the methodology of quantitative analysis on the interrelations between walkability and urban form. Jesse’s capstone research for his graduate study at the University of Washington concentrated on design strategies for a pedestrian-oriented transit core in a neighborhood at risk of gentrification, which were applied in the community-led visioning process for the South Graham Link Light Rail Station in southern Seattle.
